TERRY Crews credits abstaining from sex for 90 days with helping him reconnect with his wife, Rebecca Crews.
“Ninety days — no sex, all relationship, all talk, all cuddle,” Crews candidly told a Huffington Post Live interview. “I found that at the
end of that 90 days I was more in love. More turned on. I knew who she was.”
The 47-year-old Crews, who stars in Brooklyn Nine-Nine and will appear in upcoming action comedy Aztec Warrior, and Adam Sandler’s latest comedy, the western The Ridiculous 6, said “every man has a desire for intimacy.”
“That’s all you want — every man out there. But he’s scared sometimes. That’s why men put up big fronts.”
Crews, perhaps best known for playing Julius on the situation comedy Everybody Hates Chris, also spoke candidly about bumps in his 25-year marriage to the former beauty queen and renowned gospel singer, saying that at times he and Rebecca nearly split.
“It was on the rocks a couple times,” he said. “It was sitting up there about broken and messed up.”
Crews also got very honest about his past addiction to pornography — for which he went to rehab. He’s also teamed up with a Utah organisation, Fight the New Drug, to help others suffering from the same addiction.
“I realised the pornography was using people, you’re treating people like objects, you’re treating people wrong, you’re not looking at people as human beings,” he said.
“You’re looking at them as objects to be used. And that affects the way you talk to people … you think everyone can be used.”
