45 Lagos Corps Members To Repeat Service

Cyril Akhanameh, the Lagos state coordinator of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) on Thursday, October 15, said that 45 corps members who absconded during
their one-year mandatory service will repeat the exercise.

He said: “45 corps members will repeat their service year due to physical absence from their places of primary assignments.”
According to Vanguard, the NYSC Lagos state coordinator said that many of the corps members abandoned their places of primary assignment for more that 3 months without permission. He noted that when they were queried, they could not give genuine reasons for their absence.
“The level of their punishments, he noted, will be determined by the level of their offences, stating that many of them will repeat, serve for three or four months in any part of the states that NYSC Authorities will choose,” he said.Tat the end of their one year mandatory service. The issuance of the new certificate would take effect from NYSC 2014 Batch ‘C’.
Meanwhile, Many of them were grateful that the end of the 365 days journey had finally come to an end.
