JENNIFER Aniston’s honeymoon turned fatal with the death of her friend Carmel Musgrove in Bora Bora back in August.
Now, an investigation into the 28-year-old’s shock death has been
launched, with RadarOnline obtaining a private investigative report issued by the San Diego County Medical Examiner’s Office.
Musgrove, an assistant to Lethal Weapon and Die Hard producer Joel Silver, died suddenly after travelling to the French Polynesian island with Aniston and her husband Justin Theroux’s celebrity friends for the luxury getaway after their surprise wedding.
The document, dated October 6, lists the former Friends star in connection with Musgrove’s death. According to authorities, she died from a combination of drowning and the effects of drugs and alcohol in her system. Musgrove was reportedly last seen around midnight on August 19 in her hotel room.
Aniston’s publicist Stephen Huvane told RadarOnline it was an unfortunate coincidence: “Her honeymoon was well over, and she was already back in Los Angeles when this horrible tragedy occurred,” he said.
A source told Radar: “Now Jen’s beautiful memories of her honeymoon are turning into a horror.
“The authorities are trying to determine where the drugs her friend consumed before her death came from.”
Aniston, 46, and Theroux, 44, wed in a private ceremony at her Bel-Air estate on August 5. The following day, the newlyweds and a host of A-list friends flew to Bora Bora on a private plane. Among them was Jimmy Kimmel and his wife Molly McNearney, Jason Bateman, Courteney Cox and Chelsea Handler.
